My backyard is always filled with sunflowers in the middle-to-late summer! These are native sunflowers; I collected some seeds from the side of the road near Tome, New Mexico, and planted them in my garden several years ago. Now my entire yard is alive! Foraging for indigenous seeds is a great way to get a drought-tolerant garden going.
Many pollinators love sunflowers, especially bumblebees, carpenter bees, and butterflies.
